There are many reasons why I started to play music, not actually for the fame and the fortune. My honest goal is to change the way people think and act. Even if its one person I’ll be fine and content. Influences and context is how we get through hardships, singers have the power to change the world (I don’t sing, I just write the songs in my band and play guitar). My heroes are people like Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, or anyone that writes there true heart. It’s a part of my life in the sense I had the choice get in trouble or play guitar. Saved me from doing stupid things; I feel it’s sad that schools terminate there art programs. Kids have become mind numb sheep. It’s up to us as musicians that when we write we get them thinking about life and there situations. Here is one of my bands songs that we’re completing as I write this. It’s called “Tears and Pins”
Verse 1
Why is this happening to me
Your silhouette watching
make me feel like an angel
peacefully rejoicing
chorus:
my heart hurts when im not with you, undying love i feel for you.
Tears drop like pins, not ready to open up, sorry, im trying to
every night apart, in my dreams alone i try to find you
but i turn away because im scared of not being true
Verse 2
For meters turn into miles.
something is cuts me from the inside
like the torch I passed to my soul
to be with you is my life long goal
wait it will happen,
you’ll see ill find my place and ill smile with you
Breakdown
wake up wake up I cant take it
wake up wake up lets run away to make it
on the shores ill take you
I cant not fail you
Shit that people that profit of pain (i.e. Perez Hilton), maybe after this, people should learn to love and care for one another. It’s like seriously that’s how some people feel good by shooting someone down. Yes I even know the limits to that.
That’s why I want my band to be a charity band, were neither rich nor big, but we can all do our parts to help. Hence the reason why where sponsored by Keep a breast foundation. Other little things you do can lead to a change and help the community, church (if you’re Christian) whatever floats your boat.
What I find wrong is how people over glorify us as people, yes we know that we are entertainers but people forget that we are human too; we feel and act like everyone, not knowing where our next meal comes from.
We know that people don’t buy as many cds, but if you really like something do it. Or add money in that empty tip jar that collects dust at shows. It will make the difference if we can eat something fresh or McDonalds and kill ourselves slowly.
